Canada’s Stratford Festival and Stage Russia HD
added to Jaffrey’s River Street Theatre Series
The RST Stage2Screen Series now has 14 events scheduled.
JAFFREY, New Hampshire (May 22, 2017) Jaffrey's River Street Theatre (RST), a project of The Park Theatre, announced today they are adding the acclaimed Stratford Festival, as well as Stage Russia HD to their Stage2Screen Series. This special series features theatrical stage productions (plays, musicals, operas, events) from around the globe captured in ultra high definition for cinema presentation.
The Stratford Festival, based in Stratford, Ontario, Canada has been producing some of the most heralded productions of William Shakespeare's plays for the past 65 years. The River Street Theatre will present 5 of their recent productions: King Lear (June 11 & 12), Macbeth (July 30 & 31), Love’s Labour’s Lost (August 6 & 7), King John (August 20 & 21) and finally, Christopher Plummer as Prospero in The Tempest (September 7-9).
Stage Russia films productions from Russia’s most renowned theatre companies and distributes them throughout the globe. They are presented in Russian with English subtitles. RST Stage2Screen will begin with 2 Anton Chekhov plays this season: The Cherry Orchard (June 4 & 5) and The Black Monk (July 16 & 17). Next, a modern dance interpretation of Leo Tolstoy’s Anna Karenina (August 13 & 14). Finally, the Russian series will conclude with a newly reimagined production of Alexander Pushkin’s classic poem, Eugene Onegin (September 17 & 18).

About the River Street Theatre
The new River Street Theatre (or RST) is a project of The Park Theatre. In anticipation of the construction and opening of the new Park Theatre performing arts center, the RST is a small, intimate venue to "bridge" the construction project until the new theatre complex opens. The RST boasts only 28 seats, but it has new, extremely comfortable & upholstered wide seating, HD digital projection plus the best concessions around. Every week the RST presents new independent films, inspiring and educational documentaries, fresh foreign films, ParkKIDS films for children and classic films from Hitchcock to the Coen Brothers. About The Park Theatre
The Park Theatre first opened in Jaffrey in 1922 and was the center of community life as a movie and vaudeville house for 54 years until it closed in 1976. Purchased by The Park Theatre, Inc. in 2006, it will be rebuilt as a state-of-the-art film and performing arts center, featuring two auditoriums seating 485, presenting movies, live theatre (including children’s productions), concerts, and lectures as well as offering a place for business and community gatherings for the Monadnock Region and its 100,000 residents, school districts and dynamic artistic community. The new theatre is scheduled to be opened in 2018.
